Book Review of Prey by Rachel Vincent

Title: Prey

Author: Rachel Vincent

*If you have not read Stray, Rogue or Pride then this will contain spoilers*

Goodreads Synopsis: “Sometimes playing cat and mouse is no game…

Play? Right. My Pride is under fire from all sides, my father’s authority is in question and my lover is in exile. Which means I haven’t laid eyes on Marc’s gorgeous face in months. And with a new mother and an I-know-everything teenager under my protection, I don’t exactly have time to fantasize about ever seeing him again.

Then our long-awaited reunion is ruined by a vicious ambush by strays. Now our group is under attack, Marc is missing and I will need every bit of skill and smarts to keep my family from being torn apart. Forever.”

My Review: So I am flying through these books, I just finished this (again up to midnight reading) and I loved this book. I feel like this book got much more of an emotional reaction from me because there was a lot going on. If you have not fallen in love with the characters in this series yet, this is the book that will do it. I am not going to ruin it by telling what happens, but I am team Mark and I cringed at certain parts during this book, so enough said. I think everyone is starting to mature and Faythe is finally starting to take her proper role in the pride. I like that we are watching this happen and we can see the slow changes in her as the series continues. I also love Kaci! She is exactly what Faythe needs (although she doesn’t exactly want) right now. All the individual stories are starting to weave together and I am really enjoying watching it happen. Off to read Shift now!
