I am very excited to have Phin from Allison Pang’s Abby Sinclair urban fantasy series here today as part of the Sliver of Shadow (review here) blog tour! I also have a chance for you to win a copy of Sliver of Shadow so make sure you read the whole interview to get more details. Now, onto the awesome interview with Phin!
A Bookworms Haven (ABWH): So Phin, Do you have a favorite brand of underwear or are you an equally opportunity panty creature?
Phin: As long as they’re vaguely clean, I’m a happy unicorn. I’m sort of like the tooth fairy, really – if you see the sparkles, you know I’ve been by. Just don’t ask where the sparkles come from.
ABWH: Since Abby is a Dreamer she has the potential to enter the dreams of those closer to her and Touchstones. She jokes that if she saw yours it would be “unicorn-porn theatre”. If Abby actually did get the chance to connect with yours dreams is that what she would see or would it be something else entirely?
Phin: Unicorns only dream about rainbows. And sex. And sex with rainbows. Alternatively, I think this video on YouTube explains it well enough à http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HMKLA2MWok
ABWH: You got a little attached to Benjamin when Abby was taking care of him. Do think you will ever settle down? Have a family of your own?
Phin: Probably not. I’m a bit old for that sort of thing anyway.
Phin: Not particularly. Ion is the better cook, but otherwise I stay out of it.
ABWH: You have been lucky enough to be featured on both book covers, but they are both very different. How do you feel about the artists’ interpretation of what you look like?
Phin: There isn’t an artist alive who can capture my awesomeness.
ABWH: At first glance you seem to be just hanging out with Abby after meeting her by chance, but in A Sliver of Shadow we discover that you have a different purpose and few secrets of you own. Has it been easy keeping all of this from Abby for so long?
Phin: Seeing as she has a tendency to overlook the obvious at times, not really. She’s got blinders on, but she has her reasons for that.
ABWH: In A Sliver of Shadow you get a chance to journey to Faerie where you had a lot of obstacles to overcome, what did you think of this latest trip?
Phin: Faerie is generally overrated. A bit like Vegas. Pretty on the outside and sorta seedy beneath the surface. Also, it’s full of snobs and the leadership is batshit crazy, and if I’m lucky? Maybe a lapdance. *shrugs* I fit right in, I suppose.
ABWH: Can you give us any hints about what may be coming up next for you and Abby in A Trace of Moonlight?
Phin: The stakes are higher, for one thing. Changes abound for both of us and not of all them will be pleasant. When Abby attempts to pimp me out to a bevy of nanny goats, you *know* things are bad.
ABWH: Thanks again for coming by today Phin! Do you have anything you would like to add?
Phin: What sort of panties are you wearing right now?
ABWH: Yeah, I’m not answering that one Phin, but nice try.

About the Author: A marine biologist in a former life, Allison Pang turned to a life of crime to finance her wild spending habits and need to collect Faberge eggs. A cat thief of notable repute, she spends her days sleeping and nights scaling walls and wooing dancing boys….Well, at least the marine biology part is true. But she was taloned by a hawk once. She also loves Hello Kitty, sparkly shoes, and gorgeous violinists.
She spends her days in Northern Virginia working as a cube grunt and her nights waiting on her kids and cats, punctuated by the occasional husbandly serenade. Sometimes she even manages to write. Mostly she just makes it up as she goes.
