Saturday Snapshot is hosted over at At Home with Books and is just people sharing a photo they have taken and telling a little about it. I am in the Keys for a couple of weeks, so last week I put up a picture from Bahia Honda. This week I am going to put up a couple of the places we visited. We went to a butterfly garden one day. When we walked in a butterfly actually landed on me! It was really cool, but this little guy was my favorite of the day.
We also visited some gators at this place called Blue Hole. You could get really close to them, but I didn’t because they freaked me out a little, haha.
We did manage to make it to the beach for two days, but the rest of the week has been rain, rain and more rain! Hopefully this week will have a little more sun in the forecast!

I’ve lived in FL for 13 years now and gators still creep me out. They are scary, scary, scary! Love the butterfly shot.
Haha, yes they are! I don’t think I will ever get over how scary they are either.
That alligator looks a little menacing, doesn’t he? All calm and quiet there in the water . . . gah!
Yeah that is what I thought! He was only about five feet away so I was a little freaked out, but thankfully he just floated and left us alone.
I think I’d take butterflies over gators any day! That butterfly in the first photo is so lovely! Like black lace.
I agree! I think it looks like lace too!
The butterfly is spectacular.
Thank you! I really liked him too.
A butterfly and an alligator – creatures so very different, but your photos are wonderful. My Saturday Snapshot post is at http://goo.gl/ou72V
Yeah they are, we have had a very interesting week, lol.
Beautiful photos! If I could I would live at the beach! *sigh*
It looks like you’re having lots of fun despite the rain. I hope you have better weather now. And I agree about the gators – yuck!
That butterfly is so lovely…I have never been to Florida but would like to someday-the water is such a pretty blue.
*smiles*
I love butterfly gardens- I have had one land on me too, and try to feed from my floral shirt! An odd feeling.
Yeah…I’d definitely rather get close to a butterfly than a gator! Great shots of both of them.
