Waiting on Wednesday – This Side of the Grave

It’s Wednesday again, we are halfway through the week…yay!  Anyways, Wednesday means it is time for another Waiting on Wednesday hosted over at Breaking the Spine. This week I am featuring a book that is part of a super sweet series that I LOVE!!  Plus the cover just got released recently so this is a two for the price of one post.  You get to see a cool cover and I get to rave about a series and author I love.  The book I am loving on this week is This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost which is part of her Night Huntress series.  I am hopelessly hooked into these books, Cat is by definitely top 3 of my favorite female leads.   She is strong, independent and kicks some major butt.  Plus she has Bones at her side, which is could never be a bad thing.    Here is a summary from Goodreads.com to fill you in on some more details.   (If you have not read the other books in the series this will have some spoilers, but nothing too major, so no worries)

Danger waits on both sides of the grave…

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance…

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”—the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war. …to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

This is an adult paranormal series and if you have not picked it up yet, I highly suggest you do!!  It is just awesome, I am not sure there are many characters out there that could compete with Cat and Bones…mmm…Bones…what?  oh sorry…*wipes drool off keyboard*.  Just go check out the series and I will try to sit her patiently waiting for this book to come out, but I don’t think I will be successful.

I read that description and was thinking, wow this sounds just like a book that I wanted that came out a few months ago. Looked through my release date planner, and sure enough, at some point Amazon had listed this book as coming out this past July. I’m so glad you posted this wish. I may have forgotten all about this book since it didn’t show up on shelves when I thought it would.
