Hello Wednesday! Since, I have not participated in Waiting on Wednesday in a while, I thought today would be a good day to join in again. I first have to thank Jill at Breaking the Spine for hosting this event every week.
The book I am waiting on this week is Fury of Ice by Coreene Callahan. I finished up the first book, Fury of Fire (review here) and loved it! I also had Coreene on my blog a couple of days ago and she was so sweet. She is even offering up a copy of her book if you go comment on the interview. You should check out what she had to say here. Now let’s talk about Fury of Ice which is the second book in this series. This series focuses on dragon shifters, and since dragons are the best paranormal creature out there in my opinion, this is series has quickly become one of my favorites! Here is a summary from Goodreads to fill you in on what is about.
Homicide detective Angela Keen thrives on the city’s rough streets. But when she becomes the prize of all prizes in the dragon-shifter world due to her “high-energy” status, she gets more than she bargained for. Kidnapped by Lothair of the Razorback clan, Angela barely survives captivity before managing to escape. Hurt and alone with nowhere to hide, she faces certain death when Lothair uses the trace energy she leaves in her wake to hunt her down. But before he can reach her, a mystery dragon-shifter intervenes and saves Angela’s life.
Now a guest of the Nightfury clan, Angela regains her strength as her rescuer, Rikar, the last living frost dragon, gradually breaks down her mistrust. Surrendering to her desire for Rikar, but still uncertain of her feelings, Angela goes against his wishes and agrees to be used as bait to lure Lothair into the open. As the battle commences, the true struggle comes from within: Will Angela return home to the life she loves, or forsake it all to be with Rikar?

So what do you think? Anyone else excited for this book like I am? It does not come out until June, but I am already counting down the days, hehe. So what books are you looking forward to this week?
Before I talk about the book I am excited about today, I need to thank Jill from Breaking the Spine for hosting this event. Now, onto the book. The book I am waiting on today is Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin. It comes out in April so there is still a little bit of a wait for this title. Before I give you the summary, let’s take a moment to oogle that cover. Is it not gorgeous? Is it bad that I want to just pet it a little? Lol, just kidding. The cover is pretty sweet though. So onto the summary:
Everything is in ruins.
A devastating plague has decimated the population. And those who are left live in fear of catching it as the city crumbles to pieces around them.
So what does Araby Worth have to live for?
Nights in the Debauchery Club, beautiful dresses, glittery make-up . . . and tantalizing ways to forget it all.
But in the depths of the club—in the depths of her own despair—Araby will find more than oblivion. She will find Will, the terribly handsome proprietor of the club. And Elliott, the wickedly smart aristocrat. Neither boy is what he seems. Both have secrets. Everyone does.
And Araby may find something not just to live for, but to fight for—no matter what it costs her.

So what do you think? Are you anxiously awaiting this book like me? If not what are you waiting on? Let me know in the comments. 🙂
Before I get to my book for the day, I have to thank Jill from Breaking the Spine for hosting this event every week.
The book I want to talk about this week is the third book in The Ghost and the Goth series. The book is called Body and Soul by Stacey Kade, I loved The Ghost and the Goth (review here) and Queen of the Dead (review here) and cannot wait to see what is going on with Alona and Will now! Here is the summary from Goodreads.com to give us a little idea for waht to expect.
I’ve been trapped in the body of Lily “Ally” Turner for a month now. Talk about a fashion crisis on an epic scale. What worries me more, though, is sometimes I catch Will looking at me like he thinks I’m Lily…or that he wishes I were. Without the good looks of my former self, I don’t know who I am, or if who that is is good enough. I need out of this mess. Now.
Will and I have been looking for a solution, one that would separate me from Lily without killing her. But it’s not going well. Then, when it seems like things couldn’t get any worse, we run into Misty, my former best friend and boyfriend-stealer extraordinaire, who claims she’s being haunted…by me. Seriously?
I’m determined to get to the bottom of who’s pretending to be the spirit of Alona Dare (while I’m pretending to be someone else) and then get the heck out of this body. Or die trying…
I’ll admit it. It’s really weird to look at Alona but see Lily. I do know the difference, though, contrary to what Alona might be saying. And Alona is more than a pretty face to me, not that she would believe that.
Our one lead for some help in this messed up situation might be a page torn from the yellow pages-—the “Psychics” section-—I found in my dad’s stuff. One of the “fakes” seems a bit more real-—and odd-—than the others. Before I can investigate further, though, Alona is off and chasing a ghost that’s probably nothing more than a figment of Misty’s guilty imagination. Now Lily’s family is freaking out because she didn’t come home, my mom is ordering me to stay out of it, and something is definitely wrong with the person formerly known as Lily “Ally” Turner…
So what do you think? Anyone else read this series and looking forward to this book? If not, what are you looking forward too?
