Waiting on Wednesday time, this is a weekly event hosted over at Breaking the Spine. This week I have picked a book called The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong. I have read some of Kelley’s other work and liked it so I want to give this new series a try. Here is the summary from Goodreads.com
Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students—for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.
Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya’s determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya’s home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts getting negative vibes from certain people and things. It doesn’t help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret—and he’s interested in one special part of Maya’s anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.
I know I am intrigued, plus the cover looks great What are you waiting on this week?

This does sound good. Amazingly enough – I’m getting ready to read my first Kelley Armstrong: The Summoning.
I actually just read that for the first time this year too. Hope you enjoy it!
Sounds like a great pick. I’ve enjoyed other books by Kelley Armstrong and this looks like it will be just as good.
My WoW is here
I have read other books by her too, so I am hoping this will be another good one
Sounds intriguing! My WOW is at The Crowded Leaf.
This sounds interesting. I have tried to read her Women of the Otherworld but just couldn’t get into them. I hope this is much better! My WoW is here.
I have read 3 of the Women of the Otherworld books too and have not gone farther than that, so don’t feel too bad! I do want to get back to them soon, but my tbr pile is just too big right now.
Oh, this one sounds very mysterious, and I like the setting…the cover, too!
