Contact and Review Policy

To my readers: If you have a comment, suggestion, or a question, fill out a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

To authors/ publishers/publicists: As a blogger I try to be aware of new and upcoming releases in the book world and will accept ARCs of books  to review at my discretion, I do have an e-reader so I will accept e-books.  I try my very best to review books in a timely manner, and will review books that have/will be released soon over ones that won’t.  However, if you would like your book reviewed close to a certain date please let me know and I will do my best to review it close to that date.

I am an eclectic reader and love to read many different genres but, as is the case with most people, some are less enjoyable than others.  Please keep the following in mind:

I love to read: all of the following in adult or young adult:   fantasy, paranormal romance, contemporary or urban fantasy

I do not like to read: horror, religion, politics, self-help, trade & how-to, or memoirs

I try to review every book I finish.  However, if I do not finish a book that I have agreed to review, I may offer it to another blogger for who might enjoy the book.  I reserve the right to blog about my reasons for not finishing a book.  My acceptance of a review copy is not a guarantee that I will review your book on my blog.

I do try to respond to each request even if it is to politely decline, and you should receive an email from me. I strongly suggest that you contact me prior to sending me a book. If I receive one that I have not agreed to review and that I feel is not a good fit for my blog/reading style, I reserve the right to not review it.

I do not guarantee a positive review, but my reviews are personal, original and honest. I will cross post all my reviews at Goodreads, LibraryThing and Amazon.  My reviews include: an image of the cover of the book, a synopsis, a link to the author’s page, the books genre, the release date, and of course my personal thoughts on the book. If you have a special event that you are looking to coordinate my review with, please indicate so in your message.

As my schedule allows, I also enjoy participating in blog tours, author interviews and guest posts, giveaways, etc.

I do not sell review copies, or ARCs, but will include them as part of giveaways or donate them to non-profits and libraries unless you specifically request I do not.

If you are promoting a book, please include the title, author, a synopsis, and a link to the publisher and/or author website.

Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

Contest Policy

All contests are open to those 13 years of age or older.  After the contest has finished I will post the winner on my blog and I will notify you via email or mail the book out to you if you have provided your mailing address. You will have 48 hours to reply back to me if you receive a notification email. If you do not reply back within that time frame, I will select another winner. For this reason, I require an email address along with your entry.  I hold the right to disqualify any entry as I see fit.

If you win a contest on my site, I will request a physical address to which I may send the prize. I will not share you email address or physical address with anyone.  I do not collect personal information, but I cannot guard against others taking email or other identifying information from the comments section of this blog. I recommend using a Blogger or Google ID to create an online “persona”.  It may take up to 2 weeks for you to receive your books from contests. Normally, I like to mail winners their books within a couple of days but due to unforeseen circumstances, please allow 2 weeks.  I am not responsible for items lost in the mail.

Contests will be open to US residents only unless otherwise specified in the contest details.  I will have some contests open to international residents and when they are it will be indicated in the contest details.

If you have any questions please send me an email at abookwormshaven (at) gmail (dot) com

  2. Hi–

I spoke very briefly at the Book Bloggers Convention in NYC at the end of BEA, May 28th. We’re still reeling down here in Nashville and the need for books is great. I’ve partnered with a local agency to help with our book project, A Dry Read: New Books for Nashville. Please help if you can by blogging about the project and encouraging everyone you know to participate by sending us books! I’ve blogged about it on my page, http://www.rebeecabrothers.com. Please visit and pass along the news. I’d really appreciate it!

    Thanks so much-

  3. Hello,

Love your site. I’m glad to see you like reading YA. I work as a review coordinator for Evernight Publishing, and soon we will be launching our YA site, Evernight Teen. If it’s okay with you, I’ll send you review copies of YA paranormal and UF books when we get some.
