Synopsis by Goodreads: “Okay, so cats don t always land on their feet.
I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I have made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I m working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on- and off-duty.
But not all of my mistakes are behind me. We re beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women and that they can all be laid at my feet–two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear…”
My Review: I have to say that Faythe is really growing on me, and I like that we have entered the point in her life where she is growing up herself. She has now agreed to stay with her pride for 2 1/2 years on a trial basis to see how it goes at home so you think she would settle in and be happy with Marc, yeah no. She just cannot cut that guy a break and she is not ready to admit that she is crazy in love with him, so most of the book I really do feel sorry for the guy. At the end though Faythe gets what is coming to her as far as Marc goes and I cheered for him and shook my head at Faythe knowing that she really loves him, but is just to chicken (and not ready) to rely on someone else. All that said, she really is a strong female character and I really like her.
As far as the rest of the story goes it was just like the first book, suspenseful, mysterious and kept you wanting to read until you find out what happens. I was up last night with this book and had one chapter left and I looked at the clock and it was well after midnight so I said, one more chapter, well the end of the book definitely leaves you wanting more so I downloaded Pride and am three chapters in and very tired this morning. Needless to say I am loving this series and can’t wait to keep going.
